Goodbye from Ski Talini
The end of an era…
Eight years ago, Ski Talini opened in St Martin de Belleville to our very first guests, so it is with more than a twinge of sadness that I’m writing this to let you know that – as planned – the doors of the Talini chalets have been closed for a final time, so that I can concentrate fully on my next venture (more on that shortly..!). Of course, with the season being cut short by the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic, the final goodbye is even more poignant.
Over these last eight years we have given warm welcomes to over 2000 guests(!), and spent many very happy winters looking after and getting to know all of you who have stayed in our three chalets. Many of you have visited twice, three times, even up to eight times, and I would like to take this opportunity to say a huge THANK YOU for entrusting your special ski holidays to Ski Talini. It means a huge amount to me to have had such wonderfully loyal guests, and I am truly grateful for all those friendships, often built over bubbles and canapés!
Ski Talini was the culmination of 14 years in the hospitality industry for me, and, as many of you will know, I married Liam in September 2019 and we have settled in beautiful Cornwall. Even Balloo – a true powder hound – has adapted her digging skills to sandy beaches rather than snowy mountains!
Thank you, Team Talini!
Ski Talini would of course not have been what it was without the wonderful teams running the chalets every season.
Each and every member of Team Talini over the years brought their unique experience and personality to the Alps and helped our guests to make the most of their ski holiday in the Three Valleys. So to all Team Talini members, I want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart for all your incredible hard work and dedication to Ski Talini and I wish you all huge success and happiness for the future.
A new venture…
As one door closes, another opens, and I haven’t entirely hung up my hospitality boots! Liam and I have totally renovated a fabulous old Cornish mining ‘count house’ which we are opening as a boutique Bed & Breakfast.
We very much hope to be able to welcome past Ski Talini guests to Wheal Andrew Counthouse and of course we will be offering a similar ethos and service level in this exciting new venture. Think blissful bedrooms, freshly-laid eggs for breakfast, and wild and wonderful Cornish coastal walks…
Please keep in touch!
We’d love to keep in touch with you, whether it’s just for a natter or for recommendations for alternative chalets, and equally if you’d like to find out more about Wheal Andrew Counthouse, please do contact us.
And if you’re so inclined, you could also have a peek at how the B&B is progressing here on Instagram… @whealandrewcounthouse
The B&B website will be www.whealandrewcounthouse.co.uk when it’s up and running!
Thank you again for your support and the happy memories…
