World Snow Awards : St Martin win Gastronomic Resort of the Year!
Our fabulous little mountain village of St Martin de Belleville has won a huge accolade at the 2016 World Snow Awards :
Gastronomic Resort of the Year: 2016!
The only French resort to be nominated in the category, the resort officials are delighted to have been crowned the winner against Bormio, Park City, Steamboat and Whistler Blackcomb.
Stephanie Cardon of St Martin de Belleville commented, “It is an honour to have our village nominated in this gastronomic category in these season-start snow awards. We are small in size but our village has a wonderful and widely known reputation for its fine cuisine.”
We at Ski Talini wholeheartedly agree! St Martin is the renowned home of 3 Michelin star restaurant La Bouitte, but its the sheer breadth of foodie destinations that makes St Martin so special: from farmhouse-produced cheeses to fine dining, there’s a huge gastronomic array that makes our little mountain village a paradise for ‘gourmands’.
We love visiting the fabulous restaurants on the chalet evening off and at lunchtimes, and a trip to La Trantsa and Chantacoucou farms for a cheese-tasting is a real treat. The La Bouitte experience is ever popular among our guests, as is the fabulous Jardin de Josephine.
We have many options in the Three Valleys for a fabulous mountain lunch, but a firm favourite with our guests is La Ferme de Choumette – a working farm with huge windows in the restaurant looking down on the barn below, with cows, sheep, chickens and a goat or two! We’d hate to forget La Loy on the Biolay piste for its speedy, friendly service and great mountain food.
Our Ski Talini chefs are always excited to have so many inspirational foodie talents in the local area and love to make use of locally-produced ingredients when shopping at our local market. Read more about the vibrant Moutiers market here.
