Here at Ski Talini we believe it’s the little extra touches that make a good holiday into an excellent one.
As a small, owner-run company we are able to provide all the little touches that make your holiday really special. From your first enquiry to the wave goodbye, we look after the details along the way. So you can relax, safe in the knowledge you’re in good hands.
We recognise that the key to happy guests is a happy team. Which is why we handpick the loveliest people, with experience and the right attitude to provide the holiday that we ourselves would like to go on. They’re trained to recognise that it’s the thoughtful details that make a good holiday into an excellent one. And so far, this strategy seems to be working! We’re really proud of the excellent feedback they receive from guests.
Each chalet has its own host and chef, whose jobs it is to ensure that your holiday is seamless. And that your every wish is catered for. Whether that’s service tea in bed, baking your favourite cake, or booking the best lunch spots. They’re here to help. Plus our driver is on hand to run you to the slopes and back and ensure all the group make it to ski school on time.
With over thirteen years of ski chalet management under our belts, not to mention nearly thirty years on the other side as guests, you can trust Team Talini to deliver a divine ski experience.
Here are some of the people (and furry friends) who are here to make your holiday one to remember.
I formed Ski Talini after several busy but inspirational years of living and working in the French Alps, having graduated from Oxford University in 2006 (sorry Dad!). Life as a chalet host was the perfect tonic for the post-finals frazzle and the return to UK seemed rather less attractive, so life became centred on all things snowy. I took a sabbatical from skiing, working on superyachts in the Med and Indian Ocean but the call of the mountains was too strong and I returned to the Alps all the more determined to start my own ski business. Thus Ski Talini was born and is now going from strength to strength into its eighth (8!!) winter season.
I split my time these days between St Martin and rural Cornwall where we are renovating an old mining ‘counthouse’ into a boutique B&B. Watch this space!
Marketing and PR aficionado
With most of my working life spent in and around chalets, I know that at Ski Talini we offer something really special to our guests.
This winter will be my 15th in the Three Valleys and I can often be found making a few turns on the slopes (or ‘researching’ the mountain restaurants!) but I’m mostly chasing after my two lovely sons who are growing up in the Alps and are much faster than me on skis!
With a background in PR, marketing, recruitment, transport logistics and multifarious AOBs, I’m fully equipped to make sure you have a wonderful holiday.
Rachael brings a wealth of experience in terms of both ski seasons (4!) and running her own holiday cottage business in Australia, where she spent 14 years. She knows the Belleville valley inside out so can help with (almost) any query and can offer heaps of advice and must see’s and do’s!
Rachael will be ‘on the ground’ in St Martin de Belleville all winter and will be looking to look after the team and ensuring that you get the most out of your holiday with us, as well being torn between her yoga mat, the gym and walking her beloved labrador, Charlie!
Joe was born in Australia but is really from Derbyshire and has worked in kitchens since he was 15. He joins Ski Talini from the Isles of Scilly where he and Cesca have been working at a prestigious hotel and restaurant.
Cesca found her passion for food growing up on a smallholding in Derbyshire. Her love of travelling has taken her far and wide, latterly closer to home in the Isles of Scilly – she and Joe will be returning to the St. Mary’s to open their own restaurant after the winter.
Cesca is looking forward to getting onto the mountain and improving her skiing!
Emma is a passionate outdoors person, photographer and qualified UK Summer Mountain Leader, and enjoys climbing, sea kayaking and surfing when she’s not in the mountains. She also has a variety of travel and hospitality experience, having worked across the world from the Highlands and Islands of Scotland to the Australian Outback.
She can’t wait to get out on the mountain to improve her skiing (and French!) while bringing some of that world renowned, warm Highland hospitality to St Martin.
Jamie is returning to Ski Talini for his second season with us and is keen to swap his skis for a snowboard this year (really?!). He’s a Lancashire boy with a real passion for fresh produce and big flavours – don’t be put off by t’northern accent!
Jamie is a massive football fan (Blackburn Rovers, say no more) and he has two gorgeous children in the UK, Keira and Rowan.
Balloo is the youngest member of Team Talini! She is a Labrador x Bauceron x Golden Retriever and is a serious powder pup!
Born on New Year’s Eve 2012, Balloo has now fully grown into her role as the Talini mascot. She loves pouncing on snowballs in fresh snow, teatime and Daisy’s slippers, along with lots of lap-time!
Balloo now spends her time digging on the beaches of Cornwall and running along cliff tops so she’s not in the Alps much anymore, but her spirit Powder Hound lives on in St Martin!
